Process
This is the page description.
Stage 1 —
Engagement, Brief & Discovery
Once we are engaged on a project we conduct a thorough briefing. We meet where we establish a budget and a vision.
Stage 2 —
Site Measure
We begin with an initial site visit in order to familiarise myself and take any measurements. Client to provide any drawings / CAD files of the existing condition. New to-scale drawings of the existing conditions will always be produced.
Stage 3 —
Schematic & Concept Development
During the concept phase the bigger picture of the project takes shape. We provide layout options and proceed to preparation of a concept package that focuses on key design ideas for the interior. At the end of this phase we provide you with a visual direction for the look and feel of our designs using a selection of images and finishes.
Stage 4 —
Design Development
We then move on to finalise the design intent where elevations and 3D visualisations will be approved. Furniture Schedules that supply details on all finishes, fixtures, fittings and equipment will begin.
Stage 5 —
Construction Documentation
A full set of documentation is developed for construction purposes. The finishes schedule, and the fixtures, fittings and equipment schedule are both finalised and issued with the construction drawing package.
Stage 6 —
Construction Administration
Tenders are submitted to the client for review and sent out to contractors to quote the project. Once contractors are approved and appointed, we provide assistance through the construction process to ensure the outcome is as designed. We liaise with trades and consultants, review shop drawings, and respond to queries as required. We schedule regular site appointments, and can additionally visit at your request. Depending on type and timeline of project, tender process can be started in Stage 3 or 4.
Stage 7 —
Furniture Selection - FF&E
During this phase we finalise the curatorial phase, where finishes, fabrics, lighting, rugs and unfixed furniture are meticulously selected. We provide layouts and a list of items to complete and complement the space along with a detailed schedule nominating product name, supplier, size, finish, price and lead-time. MY HABITAT can include accessories and artworks in this curatorial process.
